Automatic Identity Card and Passport Reader System
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract ICAR, Identity Card Automatic Reader, consists of a system for reading identity cards like passports, identity documents and driver licenses. First, document image is acquired by an own acquisition device based on a digital camera chip. Then, the image is analyzed in order to identify document type among a set of predefined models using local features analysis and text localization. Identification process is performed independently from image background. For unknown input documents, lines compliant with machine readable ICAO 9303 format are located and recognized. Once the document has been identified, textual fields are automatically located and read using an OCR based on statistical analysis. The system is currently installed as a check-in application in real environments like hotels and corporate buildings.

DEMO: NFCGate - An NFC Relay Application for Android
Near Field Communication (NFC) is a technology widely used for security-critical applications like access control or payment systems. Many of these systems rely on the security assumption that the card has to be in close proximity to communicate with the reader. We developed NFCGate, an Android application capable of relaying NFC communication between card and reader using two rooted but otherw...

Many Biometric security systems are used to grant restricted access to certain resources. This paper presents a biometric system for automatic vending machines. It ensures that products submitted to legal restrictions are only sold to authorized purchasers. Making use of an identity card, the system checks if the purchaser verifies all the restrictions to authorize the product sale. No special ...

Abstract Originally designed for contactless smart cards in the form factor ID1, today ISO/IEC 14443 finds new applications in an increasing number of different form factors. Most famous among the new form factors are applications such as the electronic passport (e-passport) or contactless credit cards in a form factor that is only half or one third as large (“key fob”) as ID1. The need of incr...
